Regal London Celebrates the Completion of One St John’s Wood

Regal London has released a short film including an interview with Michael Squire of Squire and Partners.

One St John’s Wood is celebrated through the launch of the new film with Michael Squire, borne out of the desire to create something truly special to honour the collaboration between Squire and Partners and Regal London.

With exteriors and interiors designed by Squire and Partners, One St. John’s Wood features classic architecture inspired by the Victorian mansion blocks of the surrounding area. The exceptional suite of private residents’ facilities is reminiscent of the world’s finest five-star hotels including a spa and wellness centre with 20m swimming pool, state-of-the-art gym, sauna and steam room; a 14-guest private dining room complete with concealed kitchen; business and club lounges; a cinema; and a roof terrace looking out across the capital and Lord’s Cricket Ground. There is also a secure underground car park with valet parking and a 24-hour concierge.

Construction of One St John’s Wood started in January 2020 and completed in November 2022. The development was part of a wider planning application for Dora House, a former 205 unit 1960s sheltered housing scheme managed by C&C Housing Trust. Alongside One St John’s Wood, Regal London provided Grace House, comprising 170 stylish and attractive new later living apartments, of which 90% are available as affordable housing. In addition, Grace House includes space for residents to relax and keep active with a spacious communal lounge, several gardens (including a roof garden and a winter garden), a dedicated ‘activity zone’, a café and a salon.

One St John’s Wood is the jewel in the crown of Regal London’s extensive completed portfolio. It epitomises our approach to partnership, both with C&C Housing Trust and Squire and Partners, to create something of true excellence and quality – as Michael Squire says, we have created ‘a classy residential building, simple as that.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our collaborator and friend, Michael Squire. We worked closely with Michael and the team over many years – from planning to completion and beyond, it goes without saying that his design skills and personal touch to projects was second to none. The film is our tribute to one of the UK’s leading architects and his work on London’s new number One.
