Reducing carbon emissions
Our journey to achieving net-zero carbon emissions on our projects has begun. We are committed to playing our part in reducing the impact of the built environment sector, which is responsible for nearly 40% of global carbon emissions. We aim for a consistent reduction in embodied and operational carbon from project to project.
Creating green places
Our projects are biodiverse, with plants and trees chosen to encourage local wildlife. We know that plants, flowers and green spaces have a real impact on people’s happiness and wellbeing too, making it even more important that we enhance our natural environment.
Investing in innovation
We have to act now to mitigate the climate crisis. We cannot wait for solutions to come to us, which is why we invest in innovative new construction methods that reduce our carbon footprint.
Better outcomes for people
Our impact goes further than our red line. We work with partners and collaborators to create value greater than the sum of our parts. In keeping with our own entrepreneurial spirit, we particularly work with groups providing support for young people and those wanting to further their own careers.

Our in-house sustainability steering group covers each discipline, and ensures that from the very start of the process each project has sustainability and wellness at it’s core. This dedicated team is involved in every aspect of our projects, from planning to construction and design.
With this strategic approach, we can ensure that we can leave a legacy of positive improvements – economically, environmentally and socially.

Reducing carbon
Dalston Works, completed in 2017, is the world’s largest cross laminated timber building at 10 storeys. The manufacture of the timber frame produced less than half the embodied carbon of an equivalent concrete structure, weighs about 20% of an equivalent concrete frame and has removed a significant amount of carbon from the atmosphere.
Today, we have delivered The Clarendon Works in Watford, one of the most sustainable buildings in the UK, achieving WELL Building Standard Platinum and BREEAM Excellent along with a host of other sustainable credentials.
Increasing biodiversity
Fulton & Fifth is a new oasis in the heart of Wembley, providing publicly accessible green space along Wealdstone Brook in the centre of Wembley Park and an east to west route from Fourth Way to Fulton Road.
It includes new shade tolerant wildflower meadows, extensive mixed shrub and herb and fruit planting and a wide variety of habitats comprised of native species of local provenance and grown in the UK, which will support our native populations of insects and mammals.
Construction innovation
At Fulton & Fifth, we used an offsite integrated façade solution. This results in a significant reduction in both manhours and the number of site deliveries, providing huge logistical, operational and commercial benefits.
The integrated facades form part of the structural system and are constructed concurrently with the concrete frame. The construction methods employed have resulted in a more than 30% reduction in kgCO2e/m2 when compared to traditional construction.
ARADA
academies
Working in an exclusive arrangement with Building Heroes, a charity supporting those in the Armed Forces, we have established the ground-breaking Arada Academies, the first of their kind to provide training onsite for over 60 military veterans and local people at each Academy per year.
