mixed-use neighbourhood in peckham
The 1.41-acre former Buildbase site on Blackpool Road, Peckham, is being transformed from an underutilised industrial site into a new mixed-use neighbourhood in one of South London’s most vibrant and well-connected locations. Situated close to Peckham town centre with excellent links to Central London, the site occupies a strategic position within an area experiencing significant growth, investment and demand for new homes.
The proposals will deliver a residential-led development comprising family housing, affordable homes at social rent and approximately 550 purpose-built student accommodation units. A significant proportion of the homes will be family-sized, arranged around landscaped courtyards and high-quality outdoor amenity spaces designed to support wellbeing and community interaction.
Alongside new homes, the development will provide flexible space for community or local commercial uses, improved pedestrian and cycling connections, and enhanced public realm. By repurposing a previously inaccessible industrial site, the scheme will create a sustainable new neighbourhood that contributes to the ongoing regeneration of Peckham while helping to meet London’s housing needs.
