100 Chalk Farm Road is an exciting new development within the Regent’s Canal Conservation Area next to the Grade II* listed Roundhouse, the renowned live performance space in Camden Town.
The planned development will include three new blocks varying in height from 6 to 12 storeys, housing 264 PBSA beds, including 24 at affordable rates intended for the London School of Economics, 30 affordable homes, and 7,750 sq ft of ground floor commercial space. The buildings will be set back from the pavement, creating more footpath space for pedestrians and improving crowd management for the Roundhouse.
Designed in collaboration with DSHDA, the proposed buildings feature four drum-shaped elements with a striking facade adorned with horizontal bands and fluted panels, paying homage to the historical context of the area. The scheme offers extensive amenity space totalling 2.06 sqm of internal amenity space per room, including an external study courtyard, breakout space and gym. The proposed project is committed to BREEAM Outstanding, WELL Platinum and WiredScore Platinum, and is set to be one of the first UK purpose-built student accommodation projects to be accredited WELL Platinum.
